  What's with this "no windows in kingdom halls" thing?

  i hear many people on this forum say that kh's don't have windows.

  but i have never been to one that didn't have windows.

  is this only in a certain area or something?.

  The congregation I used to attend built a new building in 2006. It has windows in the auditorium, and the lobby area has a large clear glass door with clear sidelights. The windows in the auditorium have window blinds installed, but you can still see out between the slats.

  Unbaptized Publisher

  what would you recommend for an unbaptized publisher that has learned ttatt and is inactive?

  do you think it is best for someone to just continue to be inactive and live & let live?

  or take time and write a letter wishing to no longer be an unbaptized publisher?.

  There's a good chance that no one will ever bother contacting you, or your friend, because it's "out of sight, out of mind" for the dubs. But sometimes the CO will put pressure on the local elders to reach out to inactive people. The best solution is to just ignore any such attempts to contact you and move on with your life

  i got a huge turkey on sale and i need to cook it.

  i'm making turkey and trimmings, neighbors are bringing whatever they want, mostly vegetarian stuff.

  I don't like the craziness of the shopping frenzy, but I simply adjust my shopping habits to avoid the crowds. I get it done early and relax, and I don't overspend

  I have nothing left in the tank, I need help

  i dont have the willpower to attend meetings anymore.

  i'm literally on the sound system list every week.

  i'm either reading on sunday or tuesday, praying on tuesday nites, adjusting mics, passing mics, or working the sound system, or doing last minute parts for the service meeting.

  you are in a tough spot. is there anything you could do to disqualify yourself from mics/sound/praying that wouldn't freak your family out too much -like grow a beard or let your hair get too long? If you are financially dependent on your family you may have to play the long game to get through school - and I know how awful that is, but getting your degree is of paramount importance. once you are through with school, look for a job as far away from family as you can.

  after going through my teenage years trying to be the perfect jw, i realized that trying to live up to the standards imposed on me have been for worse & not for better.

  i was feeling miserable, repressed, unfulfilled, with a great lack of self confidence & self esteem.

  I was absolutely not a virgin when I met my husband, and we certainly had plenty of sex before we got married, and neither of us were dubs yet, but I can still relate to the bit about being embarrassed after the wedding because now everyone knows we're doing it. Weird sexual hang ups are common in all families that can't deal with sex in an open, honest, and non-shaming fashion.
